Montrose barista is a latte art whiz

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston barista might just make the most unique lattes in the city. Savannah Childers works at Southside Espresso in Montrose. Regulars know the 24-year-old best for her latte art. Childers uses the milk foam to create some surprising images.

Childers' best work includes Mickey Mouse giving Minnie Mouse a kiss. On Instagram, she loves to show up her caffeinated masterpieces.



She's been perfecting the creations for the past 4 years.

"A lot of it was trying to make a drink that looked as good as I thought it would taste," said Childers. "It's a lot of fun. It's really unexpected for people. It kind of makes their day, which is what makes it worthwhile for me."



Customers like Stephanie Gilbreath say they love the idea.

"I think it's amazing. We just kind of stumbled upon this place," said Gilbreath. "I love art and kind of incorporating that with coffee, it just brings two of my loves together."



Childers typically works weekdays at Southside Espresso.
