Faith Cosme, who was indicted in Montgomery County on June 16 according to court records, was arrested earlier this month and is currently out on bond.
ABC13 spoke with the mother of the boy who was allegedly injured by Cosme.
That mother, who wishes to only be identified by her first name of Rhiannon, tells us her 7-year-old son has autism and is non-verbal.
"He had a couple of marks on his neck and back," Rhiannon said.
Rhiannon told ABC13 she got a call in February from the school's principal that the alleged incident had taken place.
"(The principal) went on to explain that the teacher had become frustrated with my son because he was crying," she said of the phone call.
New Caney ISD, which has confirmed to ABC13 that Cosme is no longer employed by the district, told ABC13 that it is continuing to cooperate with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office's investigation into the allegations.
"I kind of send him out into the world, which is supposed to be a safe place for him and a safe place for him to go to school and be around people that would protect him," Rhiannon said.
In addition to facing criminal charges, the State of Texas has confirmed to ABC13 that Cosme is also being investigated by the Texas Education Agency.
