The Houston Police Department said the incident happened near Corporate Drive and Beechnut Street.
According to HPD Sgt. Griffiths, it appears the victim was standing in the roadway when a driver turned into Corporate Drive and hit him. The man reportedly died at the scene.
The victim, who police said was in his 30s, was known to panhandle in the area.
HPD said the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police added that no signs of impairment were found on the driver.
