HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is searching for a suspect after a man was shot and killed before getting his haircut at a west Houston barbershop overnight on Tuesday.

Investigators told ABC13 that officers responded to the strip center off Richmond near Ocee just after 4 a.m. and found the victim dead from a gunshot wound.

The man arrived at the shop and went inside, while his girlfriend stayed in the car, according to HPD.

The victim's girlfriend told police she heard two gunshots and saw her boyfriend come out of the shop before falling to the ground, HPD says.

As ABC13 arrived at the scene, our cameras caught a man and woman being placed under arrest and into cruisers. Officials did not say what connection they have to the scene.

Right now, HPD says there is still no suspect in custody and is working to determine if the shooter ran from the scene or drove off.
