According to HPD Lt. Ali, officers received a call about a shooting in the 5000 block of Bellfort Avenue near Jutland Road at about 1 a.m. on Thursday.
Police said the man was driving northbound on Jutland Road when he was shot. When officers arrived at the scene, Ali said, they found the man with a gunshot wound to his stomach.
The victim told police that he had no idea why he was shot or who shot him, according to Ali.
The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for his critical injuries, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing, according to Ali.
