HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A double shooting left a man dead and another injured in northwest Harris County overnight, according to deputies.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened in the 7700 block of W. Little York, near Hollister.

Sgt. Greg Pinkins said deputies arrived at the scene at about 12:45 a.m. on Monday and found a white Malibu crashed into a ditch.

A man, believed to be the driver of that car, was found with several gunshot wounds and taken to the hospital, where he died, Pinkins said. A second shooting victim, described as a 22-year-old man, was reportedly also taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and taken into surgery.

The sergeant said the second victim's injuries are not life-threatening and that he's expected to be OK.

"At this time, we don't have any information as to why (or) what the cause of the shooting was, but we do have these two shooting victims at different hospitals," Pinkins said.

Pinkins added that following the shooting, the second victim may have run to some family members who live nearby, and they took him to the hospital.

HCSO said there is no word on the suspect, but said homicide detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance video.
