HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was found shot to death near a playground where children were playing in north Harris County on Friday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say that the shooting happened at the Montecello on Cranbrook Apartments in the 13900 block of Ella Boulevard. Law enforcement said the investigation remains ongoing as officials interview witnesses and seek possible security video of the incident. Detectives added they are working on identifying the suspect and a motive for the shooting.

Authorities said anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit at (713) 274-9100 or Houston Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
