The Houston Police Department said the shooting happened at about 10 p.m. on Monday on Bellaire Boulevard and Wilcrest.
Investigators said a teenager and his mom were inside a home when they reportedly heard a group of teenagers outside making threats.
Then, they heard gunshots. At the same time, police said a man in his 50s who happened to be in the area was hit multiple times.
Police said he rode a scooter a couple of blocks away to get help. Investigators said he was taken to the hospital with a tourniquet around him and is expected to be OK.
Lieutenant J.P. Horelica said the suspects are possibly around 16 years old and have not been arrested.
