Madison HS student charged after stabbing student with an arrow in gym, HISD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 19-year-old accused of stabbing another student with an arrow on Wednesday has been ordered to stay away from HISD's Madison High School, according to court documents.

According to court documents, Brandon Rodas was given a felony charge for aggravated assault. The order to stay away from Madison High School is part of his bond.

On Friday, Houston ISD shared the following statement regarding the incident.

"On Wednesday (Jan. 21), Houston ISD was made aware of an incident between two students during a PE class on archery skills in the gymnasium at Madison High School while teachers were present. One student sustained minor injuries and was treated by the school nurse. Safety protocols were in place and families of the parties involved were notified of the incident. The student responsible was detained and charges were subsequently accepted by the Harris County District Attorney's Office."
