Updated 2 hours ago
KATY, Texas -- Parkside Capital has broken ground on Legacy Park at Katy Court, which integrates stormwater management with immersive outdoor experiences, officials announced in a May 13 news release.

The 56-acre detention and regional park amenity will serve as the centerpiece of the Legacy Prairie at Katy Court community.

The details

The park, which is inspired by the native Katy prairie landscape, will feature a nature-based playground featuring sculpted play berms, tunnels and sides as well as climbing equipment to encourage exploration, creativity and interaction with the environment, per the release.

Additional park features include:
  • A floating boardwalk and dock
  • Shaded seating areas
  • Interactive educational moments

The park also anchors the planned Legacy Trail system linking the neighborhood to nearby schools and parks.

In their own words

"Legacy Prairie is designed to echo what this land once was," said Lauren Ferrante, partner at Parkside Capital. "By leaning into native prairie elements and natural play, we're creating a space where people can reconnect with the landscape that originally defined Katy."
