In a social media post shared at about 11:25 a.m., the La Porte Office of Emergency Management said public works crews are conducting emergency line repairs in the 700 and 800 blocks of S. 4th Street and S. 5th Street.
City officials said the water service in the area will be temporarily unavailable for about 4 to 6 hours.
Authorities added that they sent a message to residents in the affected area.
