La Marque homicide investigation underway after overnight shooting, police say

LA MARQUE, Texas (KTRK) -- The La Marque Police Department said it is investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday.

According to authorities, the incident happened at about 2:45 a.m. in the roadway on the 100 block of Oak, near the intersection of FM 1765 and Oak.

Police said dispatch got a call in reference to a shooting, and once officers arrived on the scene, the suspect had fled.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he eventually died from his injuries, officials said.

The La Marque Police Department says it has not identified a suspect.
