Investigators said the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Friday on Leeland and Austin in downtown Houston.
A group of adults were fighting before someone pulled out a gun and opened fire, investigators said.
Officers said a group of 100 kids were nearby but not involved. One of the juvenile males was shot in the armpit, police said.
The Discovery Green area has seen a number of violent crimes this summer, with this incident coming weeks after six juveniles were arrested during a "teen takeover" in the same area.
HPD said the kid who was shot is expected to be OK.
Investigators said there is no description of the shooter, and they are trying to obtain surveillance video from nearby cameras.
