On Sept. 13, 2026, HCSO deputies with District 1 Patrol were notified about an in-progress incident just before 4:30 p.m. According to HCSO, the victim called and told dispatchers that he was following a car with suspects inside.
HCSO said the man disclosed that he had been shot earlier, after investigators said he reportedly met up with the suspect to sell property and was robbed at gunpoint.
Deputies pinged the man's phone and found him in the 6900 block of John Alber Road, suffering from his injuries. EMS personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead, HCSO said.
HCSO said one person, a teenager, was detained for questioning at the scene. As far as the suspect, there is no description or information on where they could be.
