Person found shot to death on Highway 288 southbound managed lane at Calumet

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Highway 288 managed lane southbound at Calumet was shut down for hours on Monday afternoon due to a homicide investigation.

According to Houston police, homicide detectives were called to the 5700 block of the freeway after a person was found shot to death at about 11:10 a.m. Monday.

A caller first alerted authorities to the shooting, police said.

One person was detained at the scene.

TranStar cameras showed a heavy presence of law enforcement and EMS. The toll lanes reopened just after 4 p.m.
