Pedestrian dies after being hit along Houston's Washington Avenue area

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a person died in an auto-pedestrian incident Wednesday morning in Houston's Washington Avenue area, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, a call was received at about 9:40 a.m. about a pedestrian accident on the 2300 block of Summer Street at Sawyer Street.

HPD said one person was hospitalized, but they did not have a description of the vehicle involved.

SkyEye13 was over the area, where a heavy law enforcement presence was spotted.

Additional details on the incident were not immediately available.
