HPD investigating after man found shot in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is expected to be OK after being shot in southwest Houston on Tuesday, police said.

The shooting happened at about 11:43 p.m. along Club Creek Drive, just south of Beechnut. Officers said they responded to the scene and found a man, believed to be in his 20s, with a gunshot wound in his upper torso by the dumpsters.

According to the Houston Police Department, only one person was around and heard gunshots. The victim was then seen walking into the parking lot, where he collapsed.

HPD said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital and should survive.

At this time, police said they don't have any information about the suspect or what happened, and the case remains under investigation.
