Crash damages guardrail, multiple northbound lanes of Highway 288 closed, TranStar says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- TranStar said a two-vehicle crash caused multiple northbound lanes on SH-288 to close on Tuesday, snarling the afternoon commute south of Houston.

Officials said the crash occurred near the McGowen Street exit in Midtown.



SkyEye was overhead as images showed a damaged guardrail and first responders gathered around the scene.

While images showed two vehicles being towed away, officials did not say whether or not anyone was injured.



Traffic was backed up for miles, including onto Highway 59.
