Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt selected for Houston Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Welcome to the Houston Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026, J.J. Watt!

The former Houston Texans superstar was named first of three honorees, with the others to be announced at a later date.

Watt played 10 seasons with the Texans and spent his last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Some of Watt's NFL accolades include five Pro Bowl selections and three Defensive Player of the Year awards.

After a 12-year career in the NFL, Watt retired at the end of the 2021-22 NFL season. From the football field to the broadcast booth, the 36-year-old now serves as an NFL analyst.



Not to mention, Watt and Texans icon Andre Johnson are the only players currently in the Texans' Ring of Honor.

Watt's selection to the Houston Sports Hall of Fame could be the first of many hall of fame honors, who will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2028.
