HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities say a motorcyclist died in a crash with a pickup truck along the Southwest Freeway Thursday morning.

The Houston Police Department said the wreck happened in the 7000 block of Southwest Freeway service road near Bellaire at about 10:25 a.m.

Investigators learned a gray Ford F150 pickup truck and a green Kawasaki motorcycle were going northbound on the service road when the Ford made an unsafe turn in front of the motorcycle, which then hit the right passenger side of the truck, according to HPD.

Officers said the motorcyclist, who police say was 27 years old, was pronounced dead at the hospital. His identity has not been released.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
