It happened at the intersection of East Lockwood and Salina St. in the Kashmere Gardens neighborhood.
Joe Lambert said he's gone down that street countless times before. Only now, it reminds him of one of the most painful experiences of his life.
"When I come out the store, I was leaving on a scooter and I had my head turned and by the time I turned around, I was in a pothole," Lambert said.
On Friday, Lambert said he hit the pothole and fell into a ditch.
"I got a lacerated jaw, four teeth knocked out my mouth and my lip had to be sewn back together," Lambert said.
He told ABC13 this street has been notorious for potholes, but he said this crash prompted him to put in a 311 request to try and get it fixed.
Lambert said the next day, it was repaired. But, he said the needed repairs don't stop there.
"We put the rocks in because somebody came through and hit they transmission and knocked all the oil out the oil pan," Lambert said.
He showed other holes that still concerned him.
ABC13 reached out to Public Works with questions about repairs to this street. A few hours later, the department came back and filled the remaining holes.
"Since you got here, they done took care of they business," neighbor Steven Tezeno said. "There was a lot of cars being messed up and everything. So we glad you came out to support. We're happy for that."
While they're grateful for these repairs, neighbors said they'd ultimately like to see this whole street repaved.
ABC13 reached out to Public Works to see if there were any future plans to repave this street. We're waiting to hear back.
