HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Fire Department said it responded to a building collapse in the Galleria area over the weekend.

According to HFD, crews were called to a collapse at a parking garage at 50 E. Briar Hollow Lane at about 6:20 p.m. on Sunday.

SkyEye flew over the garage, where one car could be seen leaning into the collapse.

The fire department said an HVAC cooling tower collapsed onto the ramp and pancaked down, causing the partial collapse.

Officials said one person in the garage was able to remove themselves and was checked out by medical personnel.

HFD said that there was an additional sweep of the area, and no other people were found inside the damaged area.

The rest of the area was secured, HFD said.

ABC13 found that the building is privately owned by an equity group and that it was inspected on Nov. 18, 2025.
