HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Three men have been charged in connection with a shooting that killed a man and wounded a woman on Bissonnet in March, according to police.

In a release shared on Monday, the Houston Police Department identified the suspects as 20-year-old Victor Enoc Ortez-Montoya, 19-year-old Joel Calderon, and 17-year-old Carlos H. Medrano Palacios.

HPD said officers responded to a shooting call the morning of March 29 at 6000 Bissonnet. When officers arrived, they found two people with multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities said the 20-year-old victim, Edwin Gayton, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, and the 18-year-old woman was critically injured and hospitalized.

Police said the shooting happened at an apartment during a party where a fight led to multiple people firing their weapons.

HPD said Palacios was arrested on the day of the incident and charged with deadly conduct discharging firearms. Meanwhile, Calderon was arrested on unrelated charges on April 3, days after the shooting. He now faces a murder charge for his alleged role in the shooting.

Ortez-Montoy was the most recent arrest on May 28, and he faces murder and aggravated assault charges, HPD said.
