DEER PARK, Texas (KTRK) -- A 36-year-old physician was suspended after Deer Park police said he's being accused of sexually assaulting at least one minor and using dating apps to meet underage girls, according to the Texas Medical Board.

The TMB said on Aug. 13, a disciplinary panel temporarily suspended, without notice, Dwayne Dunbar's Texas medical license, citing that he poses a continuing threat to public welfare.

The suspension was effective immediately.

"A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Dr. Dunbar, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. Dunbar," the TMB said.

The Deer Park Police Department said Dunbar was arrested on July 31 and charged with sexual assault of a child who is 14 to 17 years old.

Investigators said Dunbar was using multiple online dating apps to meet underage girls, whom he would allegedly then befriend and attempt to start a relationship with.

Charging documents allege that Dunbar met a 14-year-old girl on social media.

The victim told investigators Dwayne messaged her on Instagram, and she believed he was 19 to 20 years old, according to charging documents.

Records show that the victim reported that he picked her up outside of her home and took her to his home, where he allegedly gave her alcohol.

Charging documents state that she fell asleep and woke up to being assaulted.

Dunbar lives in Webster and has been a pain medicine physician practicing in the greater Houston area for eight years, according to police.

The Deer Park Police Department is asking that if anyone has information on Dunbar's activities or has been a victim, they should contact Lt. Brown at 281-930-2142 or crimetips@deerparktx.org.
