Former Texas City Commissioner Dee Ann Haney is in jail without bond, and prosecutors say they will fight to keep her there.
Motions have been filed to revoke probation for Haney after her arrest for driving while intoxicated early Friday morning.
According to the Texas City Police Department, the 61-year-old was arrested at about 4 a.m. after officers responded to reports of a reckless driver in the 1700 block of Bay Street North.
Police said Haney told them she had followed a car that was driving recklessly, stopped near a park, and was then attacked by three people and pushed to the ground.
According to court documents, she then told officers she had taken medications and drank a beer and a shot of alcohol.
She was arrested after they say she failed a field sobriety test.
Police said they were not able to identify where the alleged attack happened.
A witness reported seeing Haney rolling down the street and screaming before getting into her truck and driving off. The witness did not report seeing anybody else with her during the incident.
Haney had been on probation following her convictions for criminally negligent homicide in the 2017 deaths of Hong Phuc Le, 58, and his son Duoc Van Le, 33.

However, after her overnight arrest, the Galveston County District Attorney's Office said it filed motions Friday morning to revoke her probation.
Prosecutors said Haney has also not been doing her court-mandated community service from the negligent homicide conviction.
TCPD said that while the motions to revoke are pending, Judge Jeth Jones of the 122nd District Court issued orders denying bond.
