This season introduces the 'Ohana Round, filmed at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.
The new round is part of a three-episode arc that follows the show's Hollywood Week, offering the competition's top 30 hopefuls a more intimate stage.
During the round, contestants perform for industry influencers, including social media stars, choreographers, music creators and more, whose combined social media reach totals nearly 149 million followers.
Family members and friends are also there to support and watch the performances.
By the end of the 'Ohana Round, only 20 contestants will move forward in the competition.
"American Idol" has also brought its stage to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, debuting a fresh 'University Twist' - one of other the ways the show is shaking things up this season.
"American Idol" airs Mondays at 10/9c on ABC and streams the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
Beginning March 30, "American Idol" will also stream live on Disney+.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney+, Hulu and this ABC station.
