Driver wanted after woman killed in hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston on Friday, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to HPD, officers responded to the fatal crash in the 9500 block of Wilcrest Drive at 6:15 a.m.

HPD says that officers found a woman in the median near the intersection of Wilcrest Drive and Bissonnet Street. Officials say that she was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say that the woman's identity, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
