LA MARQUE, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver was killed in a crash following a pursuit that began in La Marque and ended in Galveston on Tuesday night, police said.
According to the La Marque Police Department, officers tried to stop a vehicle on I-45 that was wanted for a hit-and-run in Harris County. The driver of the suspect vehicle did not stop, so officers began a pursuit.
LMPD says the driver led officers south into Galveston, where the chase ended in a crash at the Galveston Seawall. Police said the driver died from injuries caused by the crash.
The Galveston County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating the crash, while LMPD said it will review the incident to make sure officers followed proper pursuit procedures.
