According to the City of Mont Belvieu, an 18-wheeler fire caused all westbound lanes of I-10 at FM 1409 to close at around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
City officials said Mont Belvieu Fire Department crews responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. According to the Chambers County Sheriff's Office, all westbound lanes reopened to traffic at about 8 a.m. on Monday.
According to the MBFD, the 18-wheeler was carrying a shipment of diapers when it caught on fire. The tires of the truck were also blown out due to the blaze, fire officials added.
Officials did not immediately release information on what initially caused the fire and if there were any injuries.
