The demolition started last month, after the mall sat empty for nearly 10 years.
Records show the site is owned by organizations tied to the once-proposed Texas High Speed Rail.
Last month, Texas High Speed Rail Holdings told ABC13 the site is designated as the Houston terminal for the proposed rail line connecting Houston and Dallas.
The company says demolition is expected to take about 12 months.
