Lanes reopen after lost load on IH-69 near Lyons Avenue causes major traffic backups, TranStar says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- All northbound lanes on IH-69 near Lyons Avenue have reopened after shutting down on Tuesday afternoon due to debris on the roadway, causing major traffic backups along the highway, images show.

Houston TranStar reported the incident as a "Lost Load Accident" involving one vehicle, with the right shoulder and three right lanes shut down. As of 6:20 p.m., Houston TranStar reported that the scene was cleared and all lanes are back open.

The Houston Police Department told ABC13 that the debris was large pieces of metal.

SkyEye13 flew over the scene at around 2:30 p.m., capturing images of the debris spread across multiple lanes and crews blocking parts of the roadway.



SkyEye13 images also show the major traffic backups due to the multiple lane closures.
