Michael Lynn Jackson Jr., 35, is facing a felony charge of indecency with a child, according to court documents.
Court records say on June 8, after a morning sports practice, the victim and a few teammates went to Jackson's apartment before a dance practice, of which Jackson was the coach.
While at the apartment, records say a teammate took a shower before the victim stepped away to take a shower. After bathing, the teen told detectives they lay down on a bed before Jackson lay down next to the teen.
That's when records say Jackson made sexual comments towards the victim and inappropriately touched the teen.
According to the detectives, the victim was able to get up and text a friend for a ride. According to court documents, the victim told their mother that evening what happened.
Records show that at the time of the assault, Jackson was also a special education aide with Galena Park ISD North Shore High School, but the principal told authorities Jackson abruptly turned in his resignation in July.
Investigators report they also went by the apartment where the alleged assault happened, but a manager there told them Jackson abruptly vacated the property, leaving belongings behind, despite his lease not being up until 2027.
The case against Jackson was filed on Tuesday; by Wednesday, Jackson appeared before a magistrate charged with indecency with a child.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the Violent Persons Apprehension Team (VPAT) arrested him, but did not say where the arrest occurred.
Eyewitness News reached out to Galena Park ISD, which would not tell us how long Jackson worked for the district or if they ran a background check on him, but did send this statement:
Galena Park ISD was notified on Sept. 9, 2026, by the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office of the arrest of a former employee. The individual's resignation was accepted by the District on June 27, 2026. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment further on this matter. The District is fully cooperating with Harris County officials. The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority.
Court records say Jackson is currently working for the Harris Center for Mental Health. ABC13 reached out to the center for comment and is waiting to hear back.
Jackson is scheduled to go before a judge tomorrow.
