BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A horrific case of child abuse unfolded in Baytown, according to police.

According to court documents, Rachel Blaylock is accused of locking up her son, who has autism, and forcing him to live in a room filled with his own feces. Police say she is charged with injury to a child as well as possession of methamphetamine.

Authorities say her son is just 11 years old. Court records show the little boy weighed less than 50 pounds when he was rescued from his home.

The investigation began when the Baytown Police Department was called to the Blaylock family home in May. Records show several people lived in the house, but that the boy was locked in a room by himself for most of the time.

Investigators also detail the smell of feces and other body fluids throughout the mobile home. Records show that when the boy was taken to a hospital, doctors found his teeth rotting, and his body covered in dried, caked feces, even in his ears. They also diagnosed him with autism.

Authorities say in charging documents that when they confronted Blaylock, she explained how her son is non-verbal and could not use the potty by himself. She said he would often throw feces around the room.

Blaylock's mother also lived in the mobile home and confirmed some of the horrible living conditions to the police. Records show the mother had replaced the regular bedroom door with a screen door so she could lock it while still watching her son.

On Oct. 7, with criminal charges in hand, police moved to arrest Blaylock. Records show she had a cylindrical container on her belt loop, which she told authorities "contained her baby daddy's ashes."

Court records show authorities determined they were not human ashes, but rather crystal meth, and that is why she is now facing an additional drug possession charge.

Blaylock is currently being held at the Harris County Jail. Her court-appointed attorney did not return ABC13's calls asking for comment.

Investigators said her son remains in foster care.
