Hedrick, then 67, was convicted in 2014 for involuntary manslaughter in connection with the 1984 death of Ellen Rae Simpson Beason, and was released in 2021 after serving eight years of a 20-year sentence.
According to court records released by Tim Miller, founder and director of Texas EquuSearch, Hedrick had a lengthy history of violent crimes and had said in the past he had murdered four to five women during the course of his life.
