Cleveland Regional Medical Center closed, ambulances being diverted

Friday, August 29, 2014
CLEVELAND, TX (KTRK) -- Residents in Cleveland are upset after learning the Local hospital shut its doors.

Thursday night, signs showed up attached to the doors of the Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Now, residents must travel to other hospitals in other communities to get care.

This worries locals because the longer the distance, they believe could impact their health.

Signs posted to the doors at Cleveland Regional Medical Center on Thursday advise patrons to drive an additional 30 minutes to Kingwood Medical Center.

This would also effect the EMS system as a whole, lengthening travel times for patients to receive care.

The hospital plans to release more information on the closing later today.
