HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police officers said a woman is in custody after a burglary investigation at a Fourth Ward home on Monday morning, with one suspect reportedly still inside.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call about a burglary at about 10:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Ruthven Street. Investigators said a woman let herself into the home when a babysitter left the house.
After returning to the house, the babysitter noticed the door open, discovered the suspect in the home, and called the police as well as the homeowner, according to police.
Once the police officer responded to the home, they located the suspect inside, who complied with officers, HPD said. Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody and is facing a possible burglary of habitation charge.
