Suspect takes off during traffic stop, hits Cy-Fair ISD officer in NW Harris County, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Cy-Fair ISD officer was injured in a crash involving a suspect who took off during a traffic stop on Thursday, according to officials.

District officials said that at about 8:42 a.m., a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy tried to pull over a suspect on Hudson Oaks Drive in northwest Harris County.

The driver then allegedly pulled into the Langham Creek High School student parking lot and fled.

That's when the Cy-Fair ISD officer responded to assist the HCSO deputy but collided with the suspect near West Little York Road and Queenston Boulevard. According to the sheriff's office, the suspect was driving at a high rate of speed before the crash.

Authorities said the suspect continued to take off on foot but was quickly caught and taken into custody.



HCSO said the officer suffered minor injuries in the crash.

ABC13 cameras at the scene captured a patrol car being towed away.

No additional information about the suspect has been released.
