Driver leads police on chase before losing control, crashing into ditch: Baytown PD

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver was arrested after leading officers on a chase and crashing into a ditch in the Baytown area on Friday morning, according to police.

The Baytown Police Department said that at about 7:45 a.m., officers tried to stop a driver near Decker Drive and Craigmont Street after he was seen committing a traffic violation.

Baytown PD said the driver did not stop and led officers on a pursuit westbound on I-10 toward Channelview before making a U-turn back toward Baytown.

At one point, police said the driver exited at John Martin Road, where he lost control and crashed into a ditch.

Officers said the driver was not injured and was taken into custody.



Police added he will be booked into the Baytown City Jail on a felony charge of evading arrest in a motor vehicle.
