Alana Gill said doctors told her the disease carried an estimated 85% mortality rate, forcing her to confront a future she never imagined.
"For so long I was so busy taking care of everybody else, I didn't exactly take care of myself," Gill admits.
Faced with that devastating news, she made a bucket list and began traveling, determined to create lasting memories with the people she loved most.
"We went to Colorado, Arizona - we saw the north rim and south rim of the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park, we traveled there, and that was absolutely phenomenal," Gill Remembers.
Today, Gill is in remission, but after several surgeries and chemotherapy, the treatment left her mentally and physically weak.
"I had overcome fighting for my life, but I didn't know how to get out of the cycle of not having any energy, my mental state just being down. The only thing keeping me going was family."
Wanting to regain the strength cancer had taken from her, she started rebuilding her body at D1 Training in Mont Belvieu. In the video above, Gill discusses her journey and how she regained her strength.
"I hope people can see, who have gone through treatment or are left with bodies they don't know from before, that they are stronger than they think. Your body is not done," Gill shared.
