$2K reward offered for information involving driver who hit person and fled: Baytown Crime Stoppers

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A $2,000 reward is being offered for information on the identity of the driver suspected of hitting someone without stopping to help them last month, according to Baytown Crime Stoppers.

At around 2: 45 a.m., on May 5, investigators said a late 2015 to 2023 model Dodge Charger hit someone in the 100 block of Williams Avenue and fled the scene.

Surveillance cameras caught the suspect, who investigators described as a medium to heavy-set woman, getting out of the car and checking on the victim before getting back into the car and leaving without calling for help.

Crime Stoppers said the suspect's car sustained heavy damage near the front passenger side, including a broken headlight and a damaged front fender liner.

The victim's status was not released by law enforcement.



The search remains ongoing.
