BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A Baytown police officer was involved in a crash that left one man dead after he walked onto the main lanes of State Highway 146, the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable's Office said.
The agency said the crash happened Sunday on SH 146 northbound near Port Road at around 1:30 a.m.
According to preliminary information, a man in his 20s, whose identity hasn't been released, was hit and killed in the collision involving an on-duty Baytown police officer in a marked unit. The officer was not injured, deputies said.
Officials said details are limited, but an investigation into the crash is underway.
