HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two people have been arrested and charged after reportedly attacking restaurant employees in Midtown over a parking space, authorities say.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Simply Pho, located at 2929 Milam Street.

Investigators said an employee at the restaurant was trying to get into his vehicle, but could not because another vehicle was parked too closely. Officers said the employee then knocked on the other car's window.

A woman in the driver's seat of the vehicle became irate and started yelling, according to police. A man in the passenger's seat then got out of the car and started violently attacking the employee, investigators said. Officers said both the man and the woman pointed guns at the employee while he was on the ground, with the man reportedly pistol-whipping the employee as well.

Another employee from the restaurant heard the commotion, came outside, and tried to break up the fight, police said. The male suspect then pistol-whipped the second employee, police said, adding that both suspects also pointed guns at him.

Officers said that when they arrived, they arrested both suspects, who were later identified as Allen Monroe and Madison Subjects. According to officials, both appeared in probable cause court on Friday. Court records show they are both charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
