ANGLETON, Texas (KTRK) -- An Angleton ISD employee was hit by a school bus while going into work on Tuesday morning, officials say.

According to a statement by Angleton ISD on Facebook, the 77-year-old employee was walking into work at the Transportation Center when she was hit by one of the district's buses.

Emergency personnel were called immediately, and the employee was taken by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann for her injuries, according to reports.

"At the moment, our main focus is making sure our employee is okay," the district continued in its statement. "We do want to let parents know that some routes may have been delayed in picking up students while emergency personnel handled the accident, but all bus routes are still running this morning."

ABC13 reached out to the Angleton Police Department, which confirmed it is currently investigating the accident.

This is the second school bus incident for the school district this week, Angleton ISD stated. According to the statement, another Angleton ISD school bus hit a vehicle on FM 521 at Sally Lake Road on Monday afternoon.

The district says there were no injuries in the accident, and the students on the bus at the time were safely transported home.
