HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash involving an alleged drunk driver shut down part of the West Sam Houston Tollway on Tuesday night, the Harris County Pct. 5 Constable's Office said.

Pct. 5 deputies said the alleged drunk driver was in a black Honda SUV when they ran into the back of a U.S. Postal Service 18-wheeler at around 10 p.m. near Briar Forest on the west side.

The alleged drunk driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, authorities said. Pct. 5 said other passengers in the SUV sustained minor injuries in the crash.

ABC13 crews captured the aftermath of the crash on video, showing the SUV on top of the barrier and the postal service truck turned over.

Video from Wednesday morning showed crews working to clear debris and repair a guardrail damaged in the wreck.
