The recall includes the Thermos' stainless King 3000 and 3020 food jars, as well as Thermos' Sportsman 3010 food & beverage bottles, according to the Consumer Protection Safety Commission.
The products were sold between 2008 and 2024 at Target, Walmart, and Amazon, among other retailers.
Thermos says the stopper of the faulty products has no pressure relief in the center. When food or drinks are stored in the product for an extended period of time, the stopper can forcefully eject when opened.
There have been more than two dozen reports of consumers being struck by a stopper when opening the containers, causing cuts or bruises.
Three people suffered permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.
