Lined up before sunrise to get a spot inside the stadium for the event, several people stood in line to get a chance to see VP Harris and other stars such as Houston's very own Beyonce Knowles-Carter and music legend Willie Nelson.
"I am not here as a celebrity. I am not here as a politician; I'm here as a mother," Knowles said on stage before introducing the vice president.
Also making an appearance, Texans who said the state's restrictive abortion law has negatively impacted their lives. And that issue, women's reproductive rights, is why Harris chose to be in Texas with less than two weeks to go before the election.

Former President Donald Trump also landed in Texas, where he visited Austin.
It's not unusual for presidential candidates to stop in Texas, but it is rare for both candidates to appear so close to Election Day.
Texas isn't considered a battleground state, making these visits particularly interesting.
Typically, you would see this form of last-minute campaigning in swing states like Pennsylvania or Arizona.
Harris was also joined by a Senate hopeful looking to defeat incumbent Senator Ted Cruz, Colin Allred.
In Austin, Trump campaigned with Cruz, according to local reports.

As for previous last-minute presidential campaigning in Texas, George W. Bush visited Dallas the night before the 2004 election and Bill Clinton visited the Lone Star State just six days before the 1992 election.
Election Day 2024 is on Nov. 5. Early voting is already underway in Texas and ends on Nov. 1.
