SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) -- Sugar Land police have made two arrests in connection with a deadly crash they say stemmed from street racing.

Ibrahim Mohammed, 32, was driving on Highway 6 near Voss Saturday around 9:40 p.m. when police say one of the racing drivers crashed into him. Mohammed, whose boss tells Eyewitness News, had just gotten married days prior, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Roman Pollock, 20, and Kamran Kamran, 26, were both charged with manslaughter.

Police say Pollock was driving the Ford Mustang that slammed into Mohammed's Toyota Camry. Investigators say Pollock stayed on the scene and was taken to the hospital, along with two other people.

Investigators say Kamran was driving the BMW that was racing Pollock at the time of the crash, but he fled the scene.

Police say they spotted the BMW on Tuesday after a witness provided a vehicle description and arrested Kamran at his place of business. He faces a failure to stop and render aid charge in addition to the manslaughter charge.

The news hit Mohammed's business associates and customers hard at the tech repair store where he worked on Harwin.

"He had a really good clientele," said Mohammed's boss, Jahanzaib Lakhani. "Everybody just comes in, asks for Ibrahim, and (if) he's not here, they don't want to deal with us."

Lakhani said Mohammed moved to the Houston area two years ago from India on an H1-B visa to work for a tech firm.

"For some reason, they laid him off and we hired him right away," said Lakhani.

Just two days before the crash, Lakhani said Mohammed had gotten married and was leaving his father-in-law's home bound for a new apartment.

"He was staying with roommates before, and he was gonna move in with his wife on the 24th, and he was supposed to get the keys and all that good stuff," said Lakhani.

"We gonna miss him for a very long time," said Habib Ahmad, a nearby business owner. "He was a sweet guy. Very nice."

Pollock was released from jail on a $100,000 bond and is due in court August 4.

Kamran remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
