Overturned tanker truck forces several-hours closure of Grand Parkway in Fort Bend County


FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An overturned tanker truck snarled traffic in Fort Bend County and forced a closure of several hours on the Grand Parkway, according to deputies.

SkyEye13 was over the wreck, which showed the big rig on its side across the two lanes and off the freeway.

SkyEye13 was over the scene of an overturned big rig crash on the Grand Parkway. Officials said the closure of the northbound lanes would last anywhere from four to six hours.



The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office reported the incident on Thursday afternoon on the northbound lanes of the Grand Parkway near West Airport Drive.

Investigators said additional vehicles were involved, and only minor injuries were reported.



Officials said the northbound lanes would be shut down for four to six hours as crews worked the scene.

Deputies advised drivers to avoid the area and take feeder lanes.
