In a social media post, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the inbound lanes on I-45 North were shut down after a major car accident involving an 18-wheeler.
Authorities said first responders and wreckers responded to the scene, adding that traffic was being forced to take the West Road exit ramp.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez advised drivers to avoid the area or seek alternate routes if possible.
