HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Downed power lines caused backups for drivers along the East Freeway on Tuesday, according to officials.

The Texas Department of Transportation said both sides of I-10 East before Lathrop Street were closed due to the downed power lines across the freeway, but they have since been reopened.

Houston TranStar reported the incident at about 4:22 p.m. As of 5:10 p.m., all lanes have been cleared.

It's unclear if anyone was injured.

Houston police said CenterPoint Energy was notified. TxDOT said it's unclear if the incident is weather-related.
